Ranking Google Page One is Easy

By

Reach the top of Google without even trying!

Perhaps it is just me, but I never have much of a problem getting my website pages to hit page one on Google for a fairly short keywords. Maybe since I have been building websites since 1998 it has become second nature to me. I am convinced that if you write unique content that is placed properly on your page, and it is of sufficient length to be considered an article rather than an advertisement, your pages too can reach page one on Google.

Reading through hubs and forum comments, It is fairly easy to see that many people would not agree with me on reaching page one on Google. There is certainly a fair amount of people scratching their heads and asking just how they can reach page 1 on Google, and just as many people giving their fair share of expertise in the matter. For me, I have learned that there are some things you must do to get to page 1, and there are things you must do to get to rank on page 1 with three keywords or less.

SEO for content is perhaps the easiest thing a blog owner can do to help get their pages to rank on page 1 of google. But far too many find it either too hard, or too time consuming, and many don't even know what SEO is. For me, having constructed thousands of pages, it just seems to come natural. Some of the things that I do to rank high in the search engines is to make sure that my keyword placement is included in the title, description, first paragraph, third paragraph, and last paragraph, with a sprinkling in between on multi-paragraph articles.

One thing I like to do is to spread my keywords around within a sentence. In other words, if my keyword phrase is "Adsense Marketing Tips for Newbies," then I might change it up to read "Marketing Adsense for Newbies," or "How newbies can market articles to promote adsense". I will do this throughout my articles and hubs. If you do a search for Adsense Marketing Tips for Newbies you will find that my blog will show up on page one of Google. Infact if you change up the keyword pharse using these keywords, in 5, 4, and 3 word combinations, I will probably rank on page one as well.

Changing up your keyword phrases will increase your odds of the Google algorithm to catch my phrase in the way it has been programmed to do. I will also use caps inplace of lower case, lower case instead of caps, plural instead of singlular and so on and so forth. In addition, I like to make sure that my keyword phrase isn't always what begins my paragraphs.

Using Subtitles to rank on page one of Google.

I also like to include my keyword phrase inside subtitles of my articles. Using the h1 through h4 tags to show the search engine that this is an important part of my content optimization technique. As above, I tend to mix up word position, and location within the subtitles also. Needless to say, that the longer your hub is, the more oportunity you have of including more subtitles, hence more keywords in your posting. It is all part of the Chaos Theory I have spoken about on my website and within my hubs.

Videos in your Hub.

I am throughly convinced that adding a youTube video to your post will also increase your page rank. If you were Google, would'nt you want to promote one of your online properties? Of course you would. So it is a strong probability that a relevant video posted in your hub will help to increase your page ranking.

Your page description

One of the most important areas I concentrate on is my meta discription. I tend to want my primary keyword in the first sentence somewhere around the 3rd or 4th word in line. I also want to have two sentences containing no more than 150 characters that exploit the keyword and keyword phrase. The description is one of the pieces of the SEO puzzle you can work with to manipulate your Google page rank. The description and main title of your page are the most important parts of your SEO process. Do not ignore then if you do not want your page ignored.

Page Length is a factor

Personally, I feel that the longer the better. Within reason, I tend to limit my pages to somewhere around 1200-1500 words in length, Usually with 4-5 subtitles, and a primary title all incorporating a keyword or phrase. Also, the longer the length, there is a greater chance that your visitors will stay longer. If you content is informative, then you also gain the chance that you will get more page views of some of your other content. This too is another piece of the SEO puzzle in that it reduces your bounce rate.

Meta Keyword Tags

According to Google, their algorithm ignores the meta keyword tag. I myself am currently testing several pages on my site to see if this holds true. However, keep in mind that if you submit your site to directories for backlink building, most of these antiquated directories do recognize them. If they lead to higher rankings on targeted directories, then you will increase your visitors. However, remember that Google holds the lion's share of search on the Internet. My advice is to do your own testing and see if your keyword meta tags actually play a factor for you.

Dancing with Google

If you understand the reasoning behind the Google Dance, then you might take into consideration that the Google algorithm changes from time to time with frustrating irregularity. Having similar yet different pages on the same subject increases your ability to compensate for they change in the Google Dance rhythm. The object is to get your page listed at the top of the search engines. This is done by having a method to your online obsession rather than being hit and miss. Another piece of advice is make 3 or 4 significantly different pages targeting a particular keyword without being redundant. It is important to give the appearance of uniqueness in your pages.

The Blogging Lifestyle

I have stated on many occasions that blogging for a living is a lifestyle commitment rather than a hobby. Unless you make a plan of action that you can make to each page that you make for public viewing, you are doomed to a hit and miss return on your investment. And, that in vestment is your time, and intellectual property. If you are in this just as a document for your own personal viewing, then go along haphazardly with out a document plan. Otherwise, keep your eye out for what is working, research your competition and find out what they are doing to keep you down.

Testing is your Best Friend

If you want your pages to rank higher in the search engine rankings of Google, Yahoo, Bing, and Ask, then it is up to you do do what works. The only way to do this is to test your pages, Google has a testing tool that will keep track of your hits and misses in their analytics. I strongly advice that you understand that your best weapon is information when your business is information. Invest time in your testing by developing a primary page, and 3 or 4 alternative pages and track them to see what is working. Make minor changes on your pages over time to keep your material fresh. If you are ranking page 5 up from page 10, then you are most likely on the right track. Additional hits showing in your analytics is another way.

Do searches on the Internet for your keywords. Follow those down until you find your page. If you are not seeing your page wihin the first 10 search pages, then you have obviously not followed these tips. If you are not on the front page, tweek your pages over time using these tips and you will oneday find the key. Be patient! Remember you don't own Google, Google owns you when it comes to how and when. But never the less, understand this, The algorythm is still just code. It is programmed to allow for many types of pages to reach significant height in the rankings. All you need to do is find the combination that works.

My father who was in manufacturing sales for a long period of time taught me a lesson worth remembering. IE: When selling a product, there are two methods you can use. 1.) Sell a lot for a little, or 2.) Sell a little for a lot. I remember this lesson well when I apply it to the internet. If I want to get my site seen by a lot of people, then I have two options. Do excellent SEO on a particular page, or make a bunch of pages that all have good SEO. Remember the ultimate goal is to get your page found. If you are working with Adsense in particular, the more pages you have on the Internet, the better if you ask me. If you have an actual product you are selling, then investing in your product for an acceptable return on investment is something you would need to research on your own. But, since we are speaking about advertising income, I for one feel that when I am competing with a billion other pages, my greatest chance of succeeding is through a combination of seo structures over multiple pages. The key is to get the visitors to your site, be it on the front page, or somewhere in the middle. Wherever your visitors land, they need to be directed to your primary product you are selling. The more exposure your visitors have to your honey holes the better.

You are welcom Afrignet... however, with my own stats taking a nose dive, I am wondering if Google has any idea what a good site or search result is.

Your advice Neil looks fairly straightforward. As one of those who 'does not know what SEO is', and who has not yet even learned how to use keywords at their most basic level - I tend to just write what seems right to me, and haven't yet got around to learning which words or phrases will attract google rankings - I shall have to pay attention to what you say, and try to figure out how to improve my rankings!

Voted up and useful.

Remember, when using the same keyword or phrase, it is important to keep your content unique for each page. It can be similar, but unique. Can't stress that enough or you could bet dinged for spamming the serps. And do not forget to limit you keyword or phrasing to 5% of your total content.

Great article. Do everyone a favor and do your best to take the time. You are a fantastic writer and have seo knowledge that many of us can benefit from. I learned some new info from this article, and will be following.

I'm going to try changing my key words around in my keyword phrase like you suggested and put it to the test. I'm also going to add some extra pages on the same keyword and see how that works out.
